Heritage Lottery Funding

We are delighted to announce that Raunds Parish Church - Great Past, Greater Future Campaign has been supported by a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund to repair and refurbish the building and provide a programme of activities and events based on its rich heritage. This award was for £176,090 towards the total project costs of £391,312, for Phase 1. Grateful thanks are extended to National Lottery players.

The repair works included underpinning part of the building and restoring to their full glory such rare features as important stained glass windows and rare medieval wall paintings, we also planned a range of public programmes that the church offered.  There were activities and events for visitors of all ages and interests including sessions for schools tailored to the new national curriculum as well as talks, tours and hands on activity for the local community and visitors from further afield who wanted to discover more about the history and heritage of the Church of St Peter, about its art and architecture and about how traditional heritage skills have been used for the restoration.
